A number of Biblical placenames are marked and the whole is flanked by two large panels of historical text. An inset of the camp of the Israelites is in the upper left. The map appeared in Buy de Mornas’s four volume Atlas Méthodique et Elémentaire de Géographie et d'Histoire, published by Louis Charles Desnos. It is printed within an ornate decorative border frame that was drawn and engraved by Martinet. These decorative borders were found only in the deluxe edition of Buy de Mornas’s work.
